Perry + Perry Architects Inc. have recently completed the design and construction of St. Joseph’s Villa, a $12.0 million, 128 Bed Long Term Care (LTC) Facility for the St Josephs Health Centre (SJHC).  The project reflects a new direction in design for Long Term Care Facilities.  It’s warm and inviting homelike character offers a relaxed and comforting environment for it’s new residents. 

 Situated on the 25.4 acre site adjacent to the Laurentian University campus, the project promotes partnerships in the areas of education and research, teaching programs and student placements as part of the SJHC vision as a Geriatric Centre of Excellence.
 
   
 

On that note, preliminary planning is already underway for an additional 64 bed Complex Continuing Care addition targeted for the northwest side of the new LTC facility.  The addition of the Complex Continuing Care Beds further supports the commitment of SJHC to develop a geriatric center of excellence for the Greater City of Sudbury.  The long term Master Plan for the entire site conceives possible future development of related housing and support services through private and/or public partnerships.
