This exciting project has established the new "norm" for Long Term Care Design. Situated on a steep and challenging site, the project design team targeted a "de-institutionalization" approach. Characterized by breath taking Lake views, homelike spaces and materials, the Villa reflects a true Northern Ontario Residential flavour.

The Villa design has also been guided by SJHC values, emerging geriatric care philosophy as well as a sensitivity to the Laurentian University context and challenging site topography. The LTC philosophy will be resident focused and promote the facility as a Geriatric Centre of Excellence for Northern Ontario.
